Funny thing about my training class.

I’m currently in DC, in a week long training class. The building where I’m training has two floors, not very big, like two rooms per floor. The upper floor has a conference room where the class takes place. Along with the conference room, it has a small kithces and restroom. Well, the restroom is the funny thing about this class. You can hear everything that happens inside that restroom. Any time anyone goes in there it reminds me of that scene from Austin Powers, where he is defrosted and takes a leak that lasts for about 5 minutes. Well, that is exactly how it sounds like when someone walks to the restroom.

I am sure everyone else can hear it, but I think I am the only that cracks a smile when it happens.

Foo Fighters – Best of You

Excellent song, can not wait for their new album and if you get a chance to catch these guys in concert they rock. Dave Grohl put on an excellent show and really know how to get the fans going.

Meaning of the song? Hmm, about moving on past a bad relationship that once seemed good.

"Is someone getting the best of you?" While receiving nothing in return?

And finally the best part of the song, which really sums up how you may feel at the end.

"Has someone taken your faith?
Its real, the pain you feel

Added a new block.

If you would be so kind as to direct your attention to the botton right corner of this page you will see a block called "what i’m listening to:" which will give you a small glipse to the kind of crap I listen to while listening to music on my computer.

Please don’t hold it against me if you see Avril Lavigne or some other crap that might not really fit my "style", it all depends what modd I’m in.

Your youth pastor may be watching you.

Well, on another forum that I frequent, this youth pastor asked for help on how to crawl some of his kid’s blogs searching for keywords such as sex, death, cuss words, etc. Now, this is an easy thing to do, but this is not a how to on that.

There is something scary about that, I know blogs are mostly public, but there is some personal sense to them also. It is very easy to think that what you write will never be read by anyone, when in reality more eyes see it than you would believe.

So what did good old youth pastors do before the advent of the internet?

Does he also need to have weekly visits by the k9 unit to these kids’ rooms, just in case?

Using VI to search for specific patterns

So this is a short little something I was working on tonight. Yes tonight as in a saturday night. I am a workaholic.

Anyway, if you would like to search for the following pattern using VI or if you would like to use syntax highlighting using your own vim file.

Patter: ##/##/##@##:##:##

Search command:

:/[0-9]./[0-9].{3}.@[0-9].:[0-9].:[0-9]

or the much cooler one

:/d./d./d.@d.:d.:d

The first single from Audioslave’s new album which is not out yet. If this song is anything like the rest of the songs in this album, then I will be there Tuesday when it hits the shelves. Song, reminds me a little of "I am the highway" from their freshmen cd, which IMHO was the best track of the whole cd.

Chicago?!?

So, I have been in Chicago for a couple of days now. I love traveling, I enjoy being on the road and would like to do more of it if possible.

However, this trip has not been fun. Got here Sunday and by around Tuesday I was feeling a little sick, maybe had something to do with the guy who was sick in my training class. Well, Tuesday around 7 PM I passed out, slept until 7 AM the next morning. Today (Wednesday) I still felt a little under the weather, but after a nap and dinner I was feeling much better. So I got to thinking, why would I get sick all of a sudden, then get much better within 48 hours?

So, I have been in Chicago for a couple of days now. I love traveling, I enjoy being on the road and would like to do more of it if possible.

However, this trip has not been fun. Got here Sunday and by around Tuesday I was feeling a little sick, maybe had something to do with the guy who was sick in my training class. Thus, resulting in some defencies on the imnune system. Now, is this a sign of age? Am I getting older and weaker? I don’t think so. If anything I think I am working harder than I had before, but only time will tell.

I think I need some vitamins.

The Mars Volta – The Widow

The Mars Volta comes again with a great single from their yet to be released new album. The video has a lot of Mexican folklore influences, which makes it particularly appealing to me. :-)

I consider their sound very experimental and their lyrics very dark. Not in a satanic morbid way but in a more society’s seedy underbelly sense.

Perhaps the meaning about this song is that the main character is evil or the devil, but see how they do flock to him. He provides warmth. The lesser of two evils?

Major updates things broken will fix when time permits

So, this morning, since around 8 AM, I have been working on this site trying to fix some things and plug some holes. Well, in the process I’ve managed to break a couple of things like the file mgmt section as well as the gallery. So, I will fix it whenever I get another pocket of time.
