Guess which was my busy month.

So, I was looking through my cell phone bills and noticed this nice little change in usage. Can you guess which month was crazier than hell? This month is shaping up to be very similar.

January Minutes 3,008 Texts 1,046
December Minutes 1,634 Texts 1,043
November Minutes 1,389 Texts 714
October Minutes 1,648 Texts 432
September Minutes 1,903 Texts 834

That is 50 hours of phone usage for one month which translates to about 1.6 hours every single day including the weekends. However, it was probably more like 2.2 hours per day Mon – Fri.

Plain White T’s – Hey There Delilah

So, I’ve recently started listening to these guys and they have a couple of song that are just great. However, this has to be their best song so far and the video is pretty damn good.

I think this is another song that is very obvious on its meaning. Long distance relationships, a future that you wish you, and a woman that you’re madly in love with.

Hey there Delilah….

~dmaciasHey there Delilah
What’s it like in New York City
I’m a thousand miles away
But girl tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Time Square cant shine as bright as you
I swear it’s true

Hey there Delilah
Don’t you worry about the distance
I’m right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close your eyes
Listen to my voice it’s my disguise
I’m by your side

Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
What you do to me

Hey there Delilah
I know times are getting hard
But just believe me girl
Someday I’ll pay the bills with this guitar
We’ll have it good
We’ll have the life we knew we would
My word is good

Hey there Delilah
I’ve got so much left to say
If every simple song I wrote to you
Would take your breath away
I’d write it all
Even more in love with me you’d fall
We’d have it all

Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me

A thousand miles seems pretty far
But they’ve got planes and trains and cars
I’d walk to you if I had no other way
Our friends would all make fun of us
And we’ll just laugh along because we know
That none of them have felt this way
Delilah I can promise you
That by the time that we get through
The world will never ever be the same
And you’re to blame

Hey there Delilah
You be good and don’t you miss me
Two more years and you’ll be done with school
And I’ll be making history like I do
You know it’s all because of you
We can do whatever we want to
Hey there Delilah here’s to you
This one’s for you

Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
What you do to me
wooooohwooooooooh woooooooooh

RHCP Dallas Concert

Got a chance to see RHCP in concert this past weekend and once again they were great. They played all the classics and their light/video show was great. Last time I saw them it was at an open venue so there was no light/video show. If you ever get a chance to see them and you’re a fan, you will not be disappointed.

Neuromancer

"Neuromancer," the boy said, slitting long gray eyes against the rising sun. "The lane to the land of the dead. Where you are, my friend. Marie-France, my lady, she prepared this road, but her lord choked her off before I could read the book of her days. Neuro from the nerves, the silver paths. Romancer. Necromancer. I call up the dead. But no, my friend, " and the boy did a little dance, brown feet printing the sand, "I am the dead, and their land." He laughed. A gull cried. "Stay. If your woman is a ghost, she doesn’t know it. neither will you."

So, a couple of days ago I finished this book. The main reason I picked it up is because it is supposed to be one of the staple sci-fi books for geeks. Well, I can see why and if you read the paragraph above you can see why too. This book is confusing, from the beginning to the end, the book is just random. It is like a bad acid trip on paper. Reminded me a lot of A Clock Work Orange, except for a lot less untra-violence. Regardless, I’m done with it and can now move on to the rest of my books on my coffee table.

Asimov is next and I love that guy!

Death Cab For Cutie – I Will Follow You Into The Dark

Probably one of my favorite tracks from the DCfC CD. I think the song speaks for itself love knows no end.

~davidLove of mine some day you will die
But I’ll be close behind
I’ll follow you into the dark

No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark
If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no’s on their vacancy signs

If there’s no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I’ll follow you into the dark

In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule
I got my knuckles brusied by a lady in black
And I held my toungue as she told me
"Son fear is the heart of love"
So I never went back

If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no’s on their vacancy signs

If there’s no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I’ll follow you into the dark

You and me have seen everything to see
From Bangkok to Calgary
And the soles of your shoes are all worn down
The time for sleep is now
It’s nothing to cry about
Cause we’ll hold each other soon
The blackest of rooms

If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no’s on their vacancy signs

If there’s no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I’ll follow you into the dark
Then I’ll follow you into the dark

My Chemical Romance – The Black Parade

What would happen if Queen went emo? Well if you listen to MCR’s new album that is what would happen. Not as good as their previous album, but not bad either 3-4 good solid tracks. Of course the continuous singing about death and sadness can get a bit old, but then again these guys are targeting the angst of teens… So, why am I attracted to this type of music?

Regardless, MCR’s new stuff is not really worth full price, however $9.99 is not a bad price or just download a couple of tracks off itunes.

I’ve been at it since 4:30 AM…

and I remembered reading something last night from the book that is currently on my reading list.

"Incredible that anything could happen to take away this bubbling energy, the zest that fills everything I do. It’s as if all the knowledge I’ve soaked in during the past months has coalesced and lifted me to a peak of light and understanding. This is beauty, love, and truth all rolled into one. This is joy. And now that I’ve found it, how can I give it up? Life and work are the most wonderful things a man can have. I am in love with what I am doing, because the answer to this problem is right here in my mind, and soon – very soon – it will burst into consciousness. Le me solve this one problem. I pray God it is the answer I want, but if not I will accept any answer at all and try to be grateful for what I had."

Counting Crows – Colorblind

Song is about confusion, one of my favorite Counting Crows songs, which there are a ton. I recently saw them in concert and like usual they never disappoint. If you get a chance check them out.

Finally, check out the new The Killers cd Sam’s Town, not as great as their first, but not too bad and it worth a spin. Especially for 9.99 you can’t wrong.

~david maciasI am color…blind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready

I am
taffy stuck, tongue tied
Stuttered shook and uptight
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am…fine
I am covered in skin
No one gets to come in
Pull me out from inside
I am folded, and unfolded, and unfolding

I am
colorblind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am…fine
I am…. fine
I am fine

The Killers – When You Were Young

A song about temptation and waiting for the perfect man. The new single for the yet released The Killers sophmore album. I’m looking forward to this, it will be hard to beat their first, but if the whole thing is anything like this single, it should be a good album.

~david maciasYou sit there in your heartache
Waiting on some beautiful boy to
To save you from your old ways
You play forgiveness
Watch it now – here he comes

He doesn’t look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentlemen
Like you imagined when you were young

Can we climb this mountain
I don’t know
Higher now than ever before
I know we can make it if we take it slow
Let’s take it easy
Easy now, watch it go

We’re burning down the highway skyline
On the back of a hurricane that started turning
When you were young
When you were young

And sometimes you close your eyes
and see the place where you used to live
When you were young

They say the devil’s water, it ain’t so sweet
You don’t have to drink right now
But you can dip your feet
Every once in a little while

You sit there in your heartache
Waiting on some beautiful boy to
To save you from your old ways
You play forgiveness
Watch it now here he comes

He doesn’t look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentlemen
Like you imagined when you were young
(He talks like a gentlemen, like you imagined when)
When you were young

I said he doesn’t look a thing like Jesus
He doesn’t look a thing like Jesus
But more than you’ll ever know
