Interpol – Evil

Hmm, this one has me perplexed. Great song, awesome video. However, I can not stop listening to it yet I am not entirely sure I understand it, not sure if there is a meaning to this one. Perhaps that is the whole point of the song.

"Tell them how your pleasure’s set up on slow-release"

Like a comatose patient.

"I spent a lifespan with no cellmate"

What a lonvely way to live.

"Saying meanwhile can’t we look the other way?"

Let us pretend it never happened.

~david macias
Rosemary
Heaven restores you in life
Coming with me
Through the aging, the fear and the strife
It’s the smiling on the package
It’s the faces in the sand
It’s the thought that holds you upwards
Embracing me with two hands
Write, we’ll take you places
Yeah maybe to the beach
When your friends they do come crying
Tell them how your pleasure’s set up on slow-release

Hey wait
Great smile
Sensitive to faith not
Denial
But hey who’s on trial?

It took a life spent
With no cellmate
The long way back
Saying meanwhile can’t we look the other way?

He speaks about travel
Yeah, we think about the land
We smile like all people
Feeling real tan
I can take you places
Do you need a new man?
Wipe the pollen from the faces
Make revision to a dream while you wait in the van

Hey wait
Great smile
Sensitive to faith not
Denial
But hey who’s on trial?

It took a life spent
With no cellmate
Find a long way back
Saying meanwhile can’t we look the other way?
You’re weightless, you are exotic
You need something for which to care
Saying meanwhile can’t we look the other way?

Leave some shards under the belly
Lay some grease inside my hand
It’s a sentimental jury
And the makings of a good plan
You’ve come to love me nightly
Yeah you’ve come to hold me tight
Is this motion everlasting
Or do shutters pass in the night?

Rosemary
Oh heaven restores you in life
I spent a lifespan with no cellmate
The long way back
Saying meanwhile can’t we look the other way?
You’re weightless, semi-erotic
You need someone to take you there
Saying meanwhile can’t we look the other way?
Why can’t we just play the other game?
Why can’t we just look the other way?

The following idiots are compromised or are just well idiots.

So, I have a pretty hefty log of people who’ve spammed my site with crap link to porn, morgage, or ED websites. It seems that they come and go in spurts. About 5 months ago there was a large increase of these bots, however lately (this past month) it has increased more than usual. Take a look at my ban log of all the people who’ve tried to spam my site, but were blocked.

Stutterfly – Gun In Hand

So normally you would see my explanation or interpretation of a song in this section, maybe a small blurb about the video, followed by the lyrics of said song. However, not in this case. This is to complain about Stutterfly and their "release" of Gun In Hand.

Now, I’ve had the song in one of my cds for maybe a little bit over two years. I thought it was a great song and I’ve listened to it many a times. I think it is a great combination of hard riffs and soft lyrics with an exchange of soft riffs hard lyrics. The ideal blend. However, the fine folks of Stutterfly took it upon themselves to release the song totally changed and pretty much butchered. This new monstrosity although sounds a bit like the original is much shorter an lacks the greatness that was the original.

Great move guys.

SBC might buy AT&T

Now, you might say who cares! Well, I do and pretty much any telecom person out there will care. AT&T is the definition of telecommunications, the pilar the copper cables, wire runs, and innovation. Also, a dying star that just wont fade away. So, what does SBC buying AT&T mean? Well, for one SBC’s chance to enter the "enterprise" market, which would not move away SBC from the home market but expand its grip to the big business out there. (where the money is?)

Now, if this does come through and they do "merge" with AT&T it would be nice to bring in some of those resources and move them to good old Texas. Maybe San Antonio would see a huge benefit from such an acquisition.

So I think I have it all wrong.

So, it seems that I don’t have it quite right. The usual purpose of a website is to keep the "world" updated about the things the owner of said site does…

Well, it takes time, suprisingly lots of time. I am still alive but work is really keeping me busy, lots of changes going on, restructuring.

My time on the computer for personal time has been minimal at best, yes greatly disappointed about that. Since when has work taken up so much of your day? Oh well, at least I am doing something I enjoy.

So this update is just so I don’t feel so bad that I have not put up an update in so freaking long.

Minor site upgrades

Well, made some minor updates to the site, debating if I should upgrade to the latest version of GL. Research on it way will decide soon.

The Killers – Mr. Brightside

An excellent song from an excellent album and an excellent video. Trifecta baby! Well, the very "Moulin Rouge" video should give you an indication of what the song is about. The meaning pretty self evident. All about the right relationship with the wrong girl or the wrong relationship with the right girl. Either way it never works.

~david maciasI’m coming out of my cage
And I?ve been doing just fine
Gotta gotta be down
Because I want it all
It started out with a kiss
How did it end up like this
It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss
Now I?m falling asleep
And she?s calling a cab
While he?s having a smoke
And she?s taking a drag
Now they?re going to bed
And my stomach is sick
And it?s all in my head
But she?s touching his chest
Now, he takes off her dress
Now, let me go

I just can?t look its killing me
And taking control
Jealousy, turning saints into the sea
Swimming through sick lullabies
Choking on your alibis
But it?s just the price I pay
Destiny is calling me
Open up my eager eyes
Cause I?m Mr Brightside

I?m coming out of my cage
And I?ve been doing just fine
Gotta gotta be down
Because I want it all
It started out with a kiss
How did it end up like this
It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss
Now I?m falling asleep
And she?s calling a cab
While he?s having a smoke
And she?s taking a drag
Now they?re going to bed
And my stomach is sick
And it?s all in my head
But she?s touching his chest
Now, he takes off her dress
Now, let me go

Cause I just can?t look its killing me
And taking control
Jealousy, turning saints into the sea
Swimming through sick lullabies
Choking on your alibi
But it?s just the price I pay
Destiny is calling me
Open up my eager eyes

Straylight Run – Existentialism On Prom Night

The jury is still out on this song. I really enjoy the melody but the words INHO leave something to be desired. The video is entertaining enough though.

~david maciasWhen the sun came up
We were sleeping in
Sunk inside our blankets
Sprawled across the bed, and we
were dreaming

There are moments when
When I know it end
The world revolves around us
And we’re keeping it
Keep it all going
This delicate balance
Vulnerable, all knowing
Sing like you think no one’s listening

You would kill for this
Just a little bit
Just a little bit
You would kill for this
Sing like you think no one’s listening

You would kill for this
Just a little bit
Just a little bit
You would

Sing me something soft
Sad and delicate
Or loud and out of key
Sing me anything

We’re glad for what we’ve got
Done with what we’ve lost
Our whole lives laid out
Right in front of us
Sing like you think no one’s listening

You would kill for this
Just a little bit
Just a little bit
You would, you would
Sing like you think no one’s listening

You would kill for this
Just a little bit
Just a little bit
You would
You would

Sing me something soft
Sad and delicate
Or loud and out of key
Sing me anything

Firefox!

Well, I am not one to advertise crap, so this is important. Firefox the browser based on the old Netscape and now released as Open Source software is pretty much the best free piece of software out there. Surfs the web at blazing speeds and has great extensions which make your web surfing experience so much better. Since the big release date is 11/9/2004 I figures I would jump on the wagon and help spread the word. Give it a try for a couple of days and you will see why Firefox is better than IE. Make sure you install the following extensions:

Adblock
Tabbrowser
IE View
All-In-One Gestures

A Perfect Circle – Emotive

A very short review on APC’s new album:

I am a huge APC fan, absolute love everything they have put out so far, however after listening to this album around 3 times already I have to say that it is by far the weakest.

Less emotion, less variety, less Maynard. Ofcourse this is my opinion but if I had to pick between this album or the Garden State ST, I would pick Garden State.
