The meaning pretty self evident. All about the right relationship with the wrong girl or the wrong relationship with the right girl. Either way it never works.

God this sing really makes me feel ill, it reminds me of an old boyfriend and its so true it really makes something inside me sick, that feeling of knowing the deceit is taking place but they are pretending its not, its horrible. Very emotional song its still one of my favourites despite the effect.
