• Staind – Zoe Jane

    May 20, 2004

Ok, I own this album 14 Shades of Grey and for the life of me, I don’t remember this song. I need to find the cd and play it again because I can not believe I missed this awesome song.

So, we have what seems to be another Staind hit, great guitar with Aaron Lewis singing a soft harmony. I have to admit I don’t miss the days of Mud Shovel or Home from their Dysfunction cd. The band as a whole has matured, but Aaron has matured the most and his lyrics show it. I enjoy the song, I enjoy the message, I enjoy.

  • Slipknot – Duality

    May 20, 2004

Slipknot return with their supposedly final album Vol 3: (The Subliminal Verses). This is a pretty hard hitting song although it is a bit toned down from their original stuff. Like many Slipknot songs dark words, harsh tones, and gruff lyrics.

  • Modest Mouse – Float On (Redux)

    May 20, 2004

So the most popular story and what most people seem to be googling most about, according to my logs is this song by Modest Mouse. So I have decided to maybe shed some light on the song and provide my interpretation.

So this song is all about misfortunes and their fortunes that might come along. Ofcourse no one will ever hit a cop car and get away with it, but it would be nice to run your mouth off and everyone just laugh it off. In the end it all floats on.

  • The Von Bondies – C’Mon C’Mon

    May 19, 2004

The group is formed my an interesting diverse bunch, the song is catchy, close to an instant hit reminds me a bit of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Maps.

  • FCC OKs WiFi between TV channels

    May 18, 2004

    Woohoo!

Television broadcasting took a back seat to WiFi ? the wireless computer networking technology ? when the FCC last week approved new rules that allow computers to communicate in the spaces between broadcast channels…. Link

  • No one ever learned anything by making good decisions.

    May 17, 2004

Rather ironic and depressing when it comes down to it, you must make mistakes, take wrong turns, and generally just screw up in order to gain value insight to life.

  • The net, lost in cyber space? Part 2

    May 10, 2004

December 4th was when I posted the first part of this little project. The whole point of this little “experiment” was to see how high I could get my name to come up on the google ranks. Well, after 6 months I am not up to #4. Actually, I am sure this just happened with this months google index update. Also, there are a couple of things I did. Linked this site from a couple of different sites. Slashdot was probably the one that mattered the most, but along with that one others were used. Also, I made sure to sign my whole name after any story or comment, that way increasing the instances of David Macias coming up.

So, that is that, I will continue seeing how long it takes for my name to reach #1 but I don’t see that being possible, I would need a lot more referers. Oh well, it is nice to know where I stand according to google.

PS: I am not sure how google works with dynamic sites specially since the front page of this website constantly changes. Hmmm…?

  • The Mars Volta – Televators

    May 8, 2004

I don’t know The Mars Volta has an interesting sound. I think 2 of the members from TMV were part of At The Drive In, so they definetly changed their sound a lot. I have no idea who the woman singing is, and there is no mention of her on the TMV website. Regardless, her voice is excellent.

The lyrics and music remind me a bit of A Perfect Circle, so I am digging this song.

  • The Red West – Twenty-One

    May 2, 2004

A pretty short song that I had been meaning to try to listen to a litte closer. The singer has a pretty good voice that carries quite well.
