Staind – Zoe Jane

Ok, I own this album 14 Shades of Grey and for the life of me, I don’t remember this song. I need to find the cd and play it again because I can not believe I missed this awesome song.

So, we have what seems to be another Staind hit, great guitar with Aaron Lewis singing a soft harmony. I have to admit I don’t miss the days of Mud Shovel or Home from their Dysfunction cd. The band as a whole has matured, but Aaron has matured the most and his lyrics show it. I enjoy the song, I enjoy the message, I enjoy.Well, I want you to notice
To notice when I?m not around
And I know that your eyes see straight through me
And speak to me without a sound

I want to hold you
Protect you from all of the things
I’ve already endured
And I want to show you
Show you all the things
That this life has in store for you
I?ll always love you
The way that a father
Should love his daughter

When I walked out this morning
I cried as I walked to the door
I cried about how long I?d be away for
I cried about leaving you all alone

I want to hold you
Protect you from all of the things
I’ve already endured
And I want to show you
Show you all the things
That this life has in store for you
I?ll always love you
The way that a father
Should love his daughter

Sweet Zoe Jane
Sweet Zoe Jane

So I wanted to say this
Cause I wouldn’t know where to begin
To explain to you what I’ve been through
To explain where your daddy has been

So I want to hold you
Protect you from all of the things
I’ve already endured
And I want to show you
Show you all the things
That this life has in store for you
I?ll always love you
The way that a father
Should love his daughter

Sweet Zoe Jane

Slipknot – Duality

Slipknot return with their supposedly final album Vol 3: (The Subliminal Verses). This is a pretty hard hitting song although it is a bit toned down from their original stuff. Like many Slipknot songs dark words, harsh tones, and gruff lyrics.

~david maciasPush my fingers into my eyes
It?s the only thing that slowly stops the ache
But it?s made of all
The things I have to take
Jesus it never ends
It works its way inside
If the pain goes on

I have screamed until my veins collapsed
I waited last, my times elapsed
Now all I do is live with so much fate
I’ve wished for this, I’ve *censored*ed at that
I’ve left behind this little fact
You cannot kill what you did not create
I’ve gotta say what I’ve gotta say
And then I swear, I’ll go away
But I can’t promise you’ll enjoy the noise
I guess I?ll save the best for last
My future seems like one big past
You live with me ’cause you left me no choice

I push my fingers into my eyes
Its the only thing that slowly stops the ache
If the pains goes on
I’m not gonna make it!

Put me back together
Or separate the skin from bone
Leave me up in pieces
And then you can leave me alone
Tell me the reality
Is better than the dream
But I found out the hard way
Nothing is what it seems!

I push my fingers into my eyes
It?s the only thing that slowly stops the ache
But it?s made of all
The things I have to take
Jesus it never ends
It works its way inside
If the pain goes on
I’m not gonna make it!

All I’ve got
All I’ve got is insane!
All I’ve got
All I’ve got is insane!
All I’ve got!
All I’ve got is insane!
All I’ve got!
All I’ve got is insane!

I push my fingers into my eyes
It?s the only thing that slowly stops the ache
But it?s made of all
The things I have to take
Jesus it never ends
It works its way inside
If the pain goes on
I’m not gonna make it!

Modest Mouse – Float On (Redux)

So the most popular story and what most people seem to be googling most about, according to my logs is this song by Modest Mouse. So I have decided to maybe shed some light on the song and provide my interpretation.

So this song is all about misfortunes and their fortunes that might come along. Ofcourse no one will ever hit a cop car and get away with it, but it would be nice to run your mouth off and everyone just laugh it off. In the end it all floats on.

~david macias
Lyrics again:

I backed my car into a cop car the other day
Well he just drove off sometimes life’s okay
I ran my mouth off a bit too much oh what did I say
Well you just laughed it off it was all okay

And we’ll all float on okay
And we’ll all float on okay
And we’ll all float on okay
And we’ll all float on anyway, well

A virtue maker took every last dime with that scam
It was worth it just to learn from slight of hand
Bad news comes don’t you worry even when it lands
Good news will work its way to all them plans
We both got fired on exactly the same day
Well we’ll float on good news is on the way

And we’ll all float on okay
And we’ll all float on okay
And we’ll all float on okay
And we’ll all float on alright
Already we’ll all float on
Now don’t you worry we’ll all float on alright
already we’ll all float on alright
Don’t worry we’ll all float on

(Alright already)
And we’ll all float on alright
Already we’ll all float on alright
Don’t worry even if things end up a bit too heavy
We’ll all float on alright
Already we’ll all float on alright
Already we’ll all float on okay
Don’t worry we’ll all float on
Even if things get heavy we’ll all float on alright
Already we’ll all float on (alright)
Don’t you worry we’ll all float on (alright)
All float on

The Von Bondies – C’Mon C’Mon

The group is formed my an interesting diverse bunch, the song is catchy, close to an instant hit reminds me a bit of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Maps.

~david maciasOn another day c’mon c’mon
With these ropes I tied can we do no wrong
Now we grieve cause now is gone
Things were good when we were young

With my teeth locked down I can see the blood
Of a thousand men who have come and gone
Now we grieve cause now is gone
Things were good when we were young

Is it safe to say? c’mon c’mon
Was it right to leave? c’mon c’mon
Will I ever learn? c’mon c’mon
c’mon c’mon c’mon c’mon

As I make my way c’mon c’mon
These better nights that seem too long
Now we grieve cause now is gone
Things were good when we were young

With my teeth locked down I can see the blood
Of a thousand men who have come and gone
Now we grieve cause now is gone
Things were good when we were young

Is it safe to say? c’mon c’mon
Was it right to leave? c’mon c’mon
Will I never learn? c’mon c’mon
c’mon c’mon c’mon c’mon

Is it safe to say? c’mon c’mon
Was it right to leave? c’mon c’mon
Will I never learn? c’mon c’mon
c’mon c’mon c’mon c’mon

And no this day these deepened wounds don’t heal so fast
Can’t hear me croon of a million lies that speak no truth
Of a time gone by that now is through

FCC OKs WiFi between TV channels

Woohoo!

Television broadcasting took a back seat to WiFi ? the wireless computer networking technology ? when the FCC last week approved new rules that allow computers to communicate in the spaces between broadcast channels…. Link

The net, lost in cyber space? Part 2

December 4th was when I posted the first part of this little project. The whole point of this little “experiment” was to see how high I could get my name to come up on the google ranks. Well, after 6 months I am not up to #4. Actually, I am sure this just happened with this months google index update. Also, there are a couple of things I did. Linked this site from a couple of different sites. Slashdot was probably the one that mattered the most, but along with that one others were used. Also, I made sure to sign my whole name after any story or comment, that way increasing the instances of David Macias coming up.

So, that is that, I will continue seeing how long it takes for my name to reach #1 but I don’t see that being possible, I would need a lot more referers. Oh well, it is nice to know where I stand according to google.

PS: I am not sure how google works with dynamic sites specially since the front page of this website constantly changes. Hmmm…?

The Mars Volta – Televators

I don’t know The Mars Volta has an interesting sound. I think 2 of the members from TMV were part of At The Drive In, so they definetly changed their sound a lot. I have no idea who the woman singing is, and there is no mention of her on the TMV website. Regardless, her voice is excellent.

The lyrics and music remind me a bit of A Perfect Circle, so I am digging this song.Just as he hit
The ground
They lowered a tow that
Stuck in his neck to the gills
Fragments of sobiquets
Riddle me this
Flinch stitcheing
Aureole
Stalk the ground
Stalk the ground

You should have seen
The curse that flew right by you
Page of concrete
Stained walks crutch in hobbled sway
Autodafe
A capulary hint of red

Only this manupod
Crescent in shape has escaped

The house half the way
Fell empty with teeth
That split both his lips
Mark these words
One day this chalk outline will circle this city
Was he robbed of the asphalt that cushioned his face
A room colored charlatan
Hid in a safe
Stalk the ground
Stalk the ground

You should have seen
The curse that flew right by you
Page of concrete
Stain walks crutch in hobbled sway
Autodafe
A capulary hint of red

Only this manupod
Crescent in shape has escaped

Pull the pins
Save your grace
Mark these words
On his grave

You should have seen
The curse that flew right by you
Page of concrete
Stain walks crutch in hobbled sway
Autodafe
A capulary hint of red
Everyone knows the last toes are
Always the coldest to go

The Red West – Twenty-One

A pretty short song that I had been meaning to try to listen to a litte closer. The singer has a pretty good voice that carries quite well.

~david maciasAll that I?ve seen is my love spinning round in circles
This can?t be me
Long are the days, are the nights I spend watching people
Think I?m alright

Its not that easy, its not that hard
To find a reason to carry on, to carry on

Colder than ice or a friend who?s been told he?s nothing
Please, know I feel
Wronged by a love
By the way, don?t forget your coat as you finally go

Its not that easy, its not that hard
To find a reason to carry on, to carry on

Its not that easy, its not that hard
To find a reason to carry on, to carry on
