Coheed and Cambria – A Favor House Atlantic

Well, it is about time that Coheed and Cambria get some much due recognition, it has been a while since these guys have been together, maybe 2-3 albums worth, maybe more.

My interpretation is that of a song about a relationship that perhaps was never meant to work. In the end one party sees that things should never have been anyway and decides to run. The song seems to be very open to interpretation but that is my take after listening to this song many, many times.

~david maciasYour eyes tell the stories of a day you wish you could
Recall the moments that once have
Retrack the footsteps that brought us to this favor
I wouldn’t ask this of you

Good eye, sniper
Here I’ll shoot, you run
The words you scribbled on the walls
With the loss of friends you didn’t have
I’ll call you when the time is right
Are you in or are you out?
For them all to know the end of us all

Run quick, they’re behind us
Didn’t think we’d ever make it
This close to safety in one piece
Now you wanna kill me in the act of what could maybe
Save us from sleep and what we are

Good eye, sniper
Now I shoot, you run
The words you scribbled on the walls
The loss of friends you didn’t have
I’ll call you when the time is right
Are you in or are you out?
For them all to know the end of us all

Bye bye beautiful
Don’t bother to write
Disturbed by your words and they’re calling all cars
Face step, let down.
Face step, step down.

The words you scribbled on the walls
With the loss of friends you didn’t have
I’ll call you when the time is right
Are you in or are you out?
For them all to know

Bye bye beautiful
Don’t bother to write
Disturbed by your words and they’re calling all cars
Face step, let down.
Face step, step down.

Bye bye beautiful
Don’t bother to write
Disturbed by your words and they’re calling all cars
Face step, let down.
Face step, step down.

  1. I love this music the first time I heard you I ran out a week later and bought this cd. You music just makes me happy and good. I love COHEED AND CAMBRIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. First of you have to kno what the story is about…coheed and cambria is about a(in a nut shell) a kid who has to save the world all the songs that CandC will ever put out will be telling the story. this song could be about 1 of 3 things: 1. the war taking place in the story(coheed if the leader on one side cambria is his wife)2. how coheed goes crazy and kills cambria becasue of his illness or 3. about coheeds daughter and her boyfreind who rapes and kills her in "a devil in jersey city"

just thought you might wanna kno

  3. oops forgot one thing it is more possibly about the bounty hunter that is after claudio(the kid that will save earth) the sniper being the bounty hunter and if this bounty hunter does kill him then no one can save earth fomr the bad army because claudio is the "chosen one" once again this is the story the band made up

    : )

  4. I did hear somewhere on tv, that all their albums as well as their songs were part of this intergalactic battle/sage involing an old comic book that they used to watch when they were younger. However, I think music, like poetry is always open to interpretation.

  5. I believe the last interpretation has been the best one so far…I’m going to try to break that down for you the best I can, we’ll work as a group here…help me out with the parts I can’t get…

the beginning ("Your eyes tell the stories of a day you wish you could
Recall the moments that once have
Retract the footsteps that brought us to this favor
I wouldn’t ask this of you") summarizes the leader of the bad armys past with the bounty hunter, and the bounty hunter not completely liking the fact that he has to kill claudio (Retract the footsteps that brought us to this favor) he wishes he could take back what put him in debt of the leader of the bad army.
"Good eye sniper, I’ll shoot you run"
Is the bounty hunter, attempting to kill claudio…
the second verse ("The words you scribbled on the walls, The loss of friends, you didn’t have
I’ll call you when the time is right
Are you in or are you out
For them all to know the end of us all")
I’m not completely sure of any part of this verse, except for the last line (For them all to know the end of us all) means that if the bounty hunter does kill claudio, everyone will know the end of the world, because without claudio, noone can save the world…
The third verse ("Run quick they’re behind us
Didn’t think we’d ever make it
This close to safety in one piece
Now you want to kill me
In the act of what could maybe
Save us from sleep and what we are")
talks about the bounty hunter befriending claudio, and then realizing that he has to kill him, the evil army is hunting them down (Run quickly they’re behind us) although claudio and the bounty hunter escape, claudio also realizes that the bounty hunter cannot befriend him and must kill him (Now you want to kill me)

I’m not sure about the ending, I’ve been racking my mind trying to figure it out all day, but I can’t seem to figure it out…
    ("Bye, bye beautiful
    Don’t bother to write
Disturbed by your words and they’re calling all cars
Face step let down, face step…step down")
